Responsible business practice and community benefit is at the core of PCF Training and Consultancy Solutions Ltd and we aim to embed it in all we do and represent. This covers everything from professional ethics, to sustainability, through to diversity and inclusion. These principles run throughout our activity: in the qualifications we deliver to the consultancy support with client companies.
PCF wants to have a responsible business reputation that drives its own business case for growing our customer base, recruiting, and retaining talent and widening its influence in the areas of service provision. It will be about embedding sustainability in every corner of the organisation.
Framework
The PCF responsible business framework has four distinct focused activities:
- People: we promote diversity and inclusion, and champion fair working practices, supporting learners and businesses.
- Practices: we ensure policies and procedures are transparent and fair, and promote a sustainable economy, actively looking at anti-corruption, responsible supply chains and procurement as part of our corporate social responsibility policy.
- Public benefit: we enrich the communities/businesses where we operate, building skills for compliance and personal development, encouraging qualifications for all and promoting lifelong learning.
- Sustainability: we ensure sustainability with a focus on how we impact on communities where we operate, focusing on energy, waste and water.
Initiatives and memberships
PCF is already involved in several initiatives which demonstrate our commitment to being a responsible business, and this will continue.
- PCF is a member and registered centre for the awarding bodies of UKATA, IOSH, and QUALSAFE which aims to exceed the standards of learning to inspire personal and professional development enhancing career progression, resilient companies leading to a sustainable local economy.
- PCF has engaged with local companies and have been able to subsidise training for their employees and Health and Safety consultancy support.
- Support and guidance has been provided to ACE Training https://www.acetraining.co.uk/ / ACE (Local Community Hub) https://www.aceplace.org/ without charge in helping to obtain training centre accreditations as well as development of the Centre etc
- Delivery of training courses directly for ACE Training at below market rate for local residents including unemployed and those that have barriers to work or are seeking to gain employment / re-employment
- H&S Consultancy support for GVS https://www.gvs.wales/ on asset transfer of premises / facilities from Vale of Glamorgan Council at below market rate, including ensuring premises are safe and activities subject to risk assessment
- H&S Consultancy support for Growing Space https://www.growingspace.org.uk/ at below market rate, including ensuring premises are safe and activities subject to risk assessment
- H&S Consultancy support for Glenwood Church, Cardiff https://www.glenwoodchurch.org/ at below market rate, including ensuring premises are safe and activities subject to risk assessment
Modern slavery
As part of our commitment to responsible business practices we take steps to ensure that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. This policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls which address the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. These measures are detailed within our Modern Slavery Policy.
We will not support or deal with any business knowingly involved in slavery or human trafficking. The directors will take responsibility for implementing this policy statement and its objectives.
