Course Introduction The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, Regulation 10 requires every employer to ensure that adequate information, instruction and training is given to their employees who knowingly work with asbestos containing materials, or who supervise such employees. Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, Regulation 10, Paragraph 128 - 131 specifies the training that is required for those working with non-licensed asbestos containing materials as defined by CAR 2012 Reg 3(2). This is also further stated in the Health and Safety Guidance Document HSG 210 – Essentials Task Manual, Third Edition. To remain valid, Asbestos Non Licensed Works training is required to be refreshed on an annual basis, for those who have previously undertaken the full (one day) Non Licensed Works training. Course Objective To provide the delegate with the theoretical and practical skills to safely undertake Non-Licensed Works with ACM’s. Persons requiring this type of training would include trade operatives undertaking tasks with ACM’s as defined in HSG210 (Asbestos Essentials) and in accordance with CAR 2012 Reg 3(2). Duration The duration of the annual refresher training is 4 hours, and delegates must evidence a previous / valid certification; either from A Non Licensed Works (Cat B) course (one day) course (dated within the previous 6 months) if undertaking the Refresher course initially a Non Licensed Works Annual Refresher course (dated within previous 12 months) for ongoing competence / compliance Attainment of the learning outcome for the qualification will be assessed by a multiple choice assessment with a minimum required pass mark of 75%. Failure to achieve this will result in the candidate requiring to re-sit the multiple-choice assessment. If a delegate further does not meet the minimum pass criteria on the second attempt, then they will require to re-sit the course in its entirety.
